Playdate at Nathan's

The boys had a playdate/birthday party at Nathan's house today, Nathan just turned 3 (he's the oldest of the group). It was just Caleb, Bryce and Nathan today, Ethan wasn't able to come. It seems like the boys are getting used to seeing each other and are beginning to play together some. It is so cute to watch one of the boys crawl over to play with what another boy is playing with, of course they still don't share the toys but it is cute anyway. Caleb really enjoyed his cupcake. I just let him have at it and he made a HUGE mess, I had to use the dust buster to get all the cupcake crumbs off of him! I got a cute picture of all three boys on the couch reading books together. I also like the picture of Nathan and Caleb together playing with cars. Our boys are just so cute and so sweet. I'm so glad Caleb has them to grow up with, what a blessing!

After nap

Here are a couple of pictures from today after Caleb's nap. I just thought he looked cute sitting up in his bed with his crazy bed head (the kid always has bed head). I included a picture of Elmo, Dottie, and Ernie. They sleep in the corner of the crib and they have to be tucked in with a blanket, just like Caleb.

Potty Time

I just had to post a picture of Caleb having his "potty time" last night. Caleb has potty time every night and it always involves several books. I thought my men looked so cute with their white t-shirts, reading a book together.

Mr. Independent

Here are some more pictures of Caleb in his new ride. A couple of them are from church this morning. He had a ball at church today. He was SO social, going up to everyone and shaking their hands, waving at people, giving high 5's. He was all over the place and loving every minute of it. We could tell that he just feels more confident and independent in his chair. This is just going to be so great for him and his development. We feel so blessed to have him as our son, we are just so proud of him. He certainly expresses his independence in his chair, he gets most upset if we try to steer him in a direction that he doesn't want to go (I guess that is typical for a 2 1/2 year old).

It's FINALLY here!

Well after waiting 6 LONG months Caleb's wheelchair is finally here. We got it today and we are soooo excited. We have been so anxious to get it, this is going to be so huge for Caleb. He has really begun to get frustrated in his stroller because he has no control over where he goes. He strives for the independence that other kids his age have. He isn't able to walk around with me at Target or at church like other kids and I know that must be frustrating for him. This wheelchair will allow him to be more independent when we are out and about and he will be able to explore and see things from a totally different perspective. As you can see he quickly figured out how to open the kitchen drawer and pull out the silverware. We love the way his chair looks, it has his name embroidered on the seat, the small front wheels have flashing lights, and it has removable push handles (so that we can push him if needed) and headrest. We were nervous about the chair because we decided to get him a standard sized chair versus a pediatric one and we weren't sure if we made the right decision (there are pros and cons to each). But after seeing him in it I know we made the right decision, it's the perfect height. We are just so excited that he finally has another way to get around in the outside world. I will post more pictures of him in his shiny new wheels soon. I think I'll buy a "new car smell" air freshener for it so that it will even smell like a new car!!

At the park

We took Caleb to the park over the weekend since it was 80 degrees here in Texas!! He loves going to the park and climbing on all the play equipment. He may not be able to get around like the other kids but he doesn't let that stop him from having fun!
